چکیده
The foreseeable acceleration of global sea level rise could potentially pose a major threat to the natural charm and functional integrity world-renowned tourist coastal attractions Rhodes Island, as result anticipated increasing frequency flooding erosion events. Hence, this study aims determine most vulnerable segments (in terms physical impact) coastline through widely accepted vulnerability index (CVI), applying combination well-known, broadly used approaches methods. distribution current CVI along island’s suggests rather worrying high very 40%. In addition, projection end 21st century (based on Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change predictive scenarios) indicates an enhancement total by 48%, mainly focused majority western coastline. considerable number popular destinations in island shall remain under unignorable and, therefore, managers decision-makers need hatch integrated plan minimize economic losses, private property damage tourism infrastructure deterioration from episodes, which will likely be intensified future.

متن کاملModelling Coastal Vulnerability and Adaptation to Sea Level Rise
Coastal regions are highly vulnerable to sea-level rise (SLR) therefore developing and implementing effective adaptation alternatives is crucial for their future development. However, there is uncertainty in the timing, duration, spatial location and extent of SLR and storms. The complexity that arises from climate, coastal systems and their interactions in space and time can easily become over...
